Lovely Complex =]
Info
Love★Com (ラブ★コン Rabu★Kon?, sometimes spelled Love*Com), also known as Lovely Complex, is a romantic comedy shōjo manga by Aya Nakahara. It was published by Shueisha in Bessatsu Margaret from 2001 to 2006 and collected in 17 tankobon volumes. The series is about the romance between a tall girl and a short boy who are treated as a comedy duo by their classmates. In 2004, it received the 49th Shogakukan Manga Award for shōjo.
The story has been adapted as a live-action movie released in 2006, a 24-episode television anime series broadcast in 2007, and an adventure game released for PlayStation 2 released in 2006. Two drama CDs have also been produced. The manga and the live-action movie are licensed in North America by Viz.
A sequel series called Love★Com D (or Lovely Complex Deluxe) began serialization in the May 2009 issue of the bimonthly shōjo manga magazine Deluxe Margaret, focusing on Risa's younger brother.
Plot
Love★Com is a love story between a boy and a girl. The girl, Risa Koizumi, is 172 cm (5' 8") tall—much taller than the average Japanese girl. The boy, Atsushi Otani, is 156 cm (5'1 and a half") —way below the height of the average Japanese boy. Because of this, they are called the "All Hanshin Kyojin" after a popular comedy duo that has a similar height difference.
During summer school, a very tall student (from another class) shows up and Risa immediately falls for him, as she has had bad luck with boys in the past because she is tall. There is a girl that Atsushi likes as well, so Risa and Atsushi decide to put aside their differences and help each other get their love interests. But as they get to know each other better, Risa's feelings for Atsushi begin to blossom, and her love life gets complicated from there.
One notable fact about Love★Com is that instead of speaking standard Japanese, almost all characters speak in Kansai-ben (the story takes place in Osaka).[6] While having one or two characters speaking Kansai-ben is common in many anime shows, having all characters doing so is unusual in media produced for a nationwide audience.
Characters
Risa Koizumi (小泉リサ Koizumi Risa?)
Drama role by: Ema Fujisawa, Voiced by: Akemi Okamura
The protagonist, Risa Koizumi is not your average Japanese high school student. Standing 172 cm tall (about 5' 8"), Risa's height is well above that of most Japanese girls her age (the average height for a female is 5'2") Ironically, her first name, Koizumi, means 'little spring'. She and other characters compare her to a giraffe. Risa can be impulsive and strong-willed at times, and is rarely willing to display her softer side. She had a crush on Suzuki before he started dating Chiharu. In the beginning of the series, Risa is 5'7" but she gains 3 quarters of an inch in height so she is approximately 5'7.8"
Risa starts developing feelings for Ōtani and soon admits to herself that she likes him. She then starts trying to confess. Failing the first time, Nobuko and Nakao try to help, Nobuko often giving Risa advice on what to do. Finally she very directly tells him. She immediately regrets it, and tells Ōtani to pretend it never happenened, but in spite of herself she tells Ōtani once again that she likes him. Ōtani responds that he couldn't see her as a girlfriend yet, so her new goal is to make Ōtani regret that and make him like her as well. Eventually they start going out.
Atsushi Ootani (大谷敦士 Ōtani Atsushi?)
Drama role by: Teppei Koike, Voiced by: Akira Nagata , Voice actor for game/drama CD: Takahiro Sakurai
Atsushi Ōtani is one of the main characters. He is very short for a boy, standing 156 cm tall (about 5' 1"). The average height for a male in Japan is 5'7.5" Like Koizumi, Ōtani's first name (roughly, "big valley") is a pun on his diminutive stature, and he can be thoughtless and rude; at heart, however, he is kind and a little silly. Ōtani is also the star player of the school basketball team.
His ex-girlfriend is Mayu Kanzaki, the manager of his middle-school basketball team. She broke up with him for a much taller boyfriend, and this is one of the reasons Ōtani is sensitive about his height, but he later finds out that wasn't the reason she broke up with him, it was because she was in love with someone else already who just happened to be tall. He doesn't know quite yet how he feels about Risa, and only responds that he can't see her as a girlfriend (at the moment) when Risa confesses her feelings. But later, he realizes that he does care for her, and he kisses her. Later on in the series, Otani gets the wrong idea when Risa keep doing suspicious things with her co-worker Kohori, and then breaks up with her. However, after seeing how devoted she is to him, Otani reconsiders and they make up on Christmas Eve.
Nobuko Ishihara (石原信子 Ishihara Nobuko?)
Drama role by: Nami Tamaki, Voiced by: Saori Higashi
Fashionable and charming, Nobu is Risa's best friend. She is generally wiser than Risa or Chiharu in the ways of love, and is always ready to offer her advice. She's mostly the one who sets up all the 'alone time' moments with Risa and Ōtani, but it usually ends up failing and Risa goes back to her for comfort. She's utterly in love with her boyfriend, Nakao, and is always calling him her 'honey', 'darling', and 'baby'.
Heikichi Nakao (中尾平吉 Nakao Heikichi?)
Drama role by: Yusuke Yamazaki, Voiced by: Yasuhiko Tokuyama , Voice actor for game/drama CD: Kenjiro Tsuda
Nobu's boyfriend. Considerate, sensitive, mild-mannered and easygoing. Nakao is absolutely dedicated to Nobu, and when he is not playing basketball with Ōtani, he can usually be found helping with her match-making schemes.
Chiharu Tanaka (田中千春 Tanaka Chiharu?)
Drama role by: Risa Kudo, Voiced by: Kazuko Kojima
One of Risa's closest friends, Chiharu has such a shy, demure personality that she fears most boys her own age. Ōtani once harbored a crush on her (she resembles Kanzaki, his ex-girlfriend, or vice-versa), but Chiharu instead fell for the gentle Suzuki. The two are now a couple. When everybody starts making college plans, Suzuki and Chiharu applied for the same college, but Suzuki got rejected. He sadly tells Chiharu somebody else would be able to protect her. For the first time, Chiharu breaks out of her shy character and violently lifts up a desk and throws at him (narrowly missing), frustrated that Suzuki thinks he can be replaced. They later make up and Suzuki promises to join Chiharu in her new school the next year.
Ryoji Suzuki (鈴木涼二 Suzuki Ryoji?)
Drama role by: Hiro Mizushima, Voiced by: Kenjiro Tsuda , Voice actor for game/drama CD: Masaya Onosaka
Chiharu's boyfriend. Suzuki's cool demeanor is often mistaken for standoffishness, and so he has few friends. Oblivious to Risa's crush on him, he develops feelings for Chiharu, and eventually asks her out. Like Chiharu, Suzuki is shy and easily embarrassed. When failed to get into the same university as Chiharu, he promises to try again the year after.
Haruka Fukagawa (深川遥 Fukugawa Haruka?)
Voiced by: Masaya Onosaka , Voice actor for game/drama CD: Ryotaro Okiayu
A handsome, effeminate young man who developed a childhood crush on Risa when she defended him from a gang of bullies. Though he is popular with many of the other girls (dating seven at a time), he says it's all preparation for when he goes out with Risa, but she always rejects him. According to Risa his grandmother is English. It is also suggested that he might have a crush on Seiko.
Seiko Kotobuki (寿聖子 Kotobuki Seiko?)
Voiced by: Fujiko Takimoto
A blonde who has a large crush on Ōtani, although she is biologically male, stating that God placed her in a wrong body. Her given name is Seishirō, but she prefers to be called Seiko as it sounds more feminine. She kissed Otani, but he later found out she was biologically male when she took off her shirt when tending to his injury in the school infirmary. Seiko was afraid that Ōtani would think she was disgusting, but Ōtani stated that he didn't and they remained friends.
Mayu Kanzaki
Voiced by: Yuki Matsuoka
She is the ex-girlfriend of Ōtani. She looks very similar to Chiharu (or Chiharu to her), which is one the most likely reasons that Ōtani had that crush on Chiharu. They started dating in middle-school, and she was the manager for the school basketball team. She broke up with him, leaving him completely heartbroken, because she was in love with someone else.
She invited Ōtani to the team Christmas party, and though Ōtani accepts, he ends up going with Risa to the Umibōzu concert instead. She then visited Ōtani's school to see him, but encountered Risa and Nobu. Risa is convinced that Ōtani is still in love with her, so she goes to clear up a misunderstanding. It is then that Mayu tells him that it was not because of his height that she broke up with him. However, she appears again later, after having broken up with her boyfriend. When she asks to meet up with again, he says "Sorry, I can't because if i do there'll be an idiot who'll cry."
Umiboozu
Drama role by: Susumu Terajima
A popular rapper. Risa and Ōtani are both avid fans of Umibōzu, leading to Nobu's suggestion that the two are compatible. Risa and Ōtani accidentally cross paths with Umibōzu while on a class trip, and learn that he is actually a devoted family man, with a wife and son with a similar story of how they became a couple.
Kuniumi Maitake (舞竹国海 Maitake Kuniumi?)
Drama role by: Shosuke Tanihara, Voiced by: Junichi Suwabe
Student teacher at Risa and Ōtani's school. Maitake, who prefers the nickname "Maity" or "Mighty", is taller than Risa and extraordinarily good-looking. He bears a resemblance to "Cain-sama", a character in one of Risa's favorite visual novels, and soon acquires a legion of female fans. Gaining affection from Risa, Ōtani soon becomes jealous and quickly starts to realize his feelings for her. It is later revealed he has a fiance, to the disappointment of his fan club.
Mimi Yoshioka
Voiced by: Kae Araki
Ōtani's next door neighbor. She is in love with Ōtani, and brings him milk every day so he could reach her height, about the same as Risa's. Since Ōtani does not not have feelings toward her but does have feelings for Risa (who is exactly the same height as Mimi), she becomes jealous of her. She acts accordingly two-faced between them both: acting sweet towards Ōtani, yet acting sour to Risa behind his back. Later she becomes friends with Risa and gives up on Otani, after seeing how "not cool" he was and that he is truly happy with Risa. She is also a model in a magazine.
Risa's Senpai
Drama role by: Shugo Oshinari
Dancing Yoshiko
Drama role by: Eiji Wentz
Kohori Kazuki
Voiced by: Hiroki Shimowada
A young student who works part time with Risa in Ikebe. He is notably shorter than her, although slightly taller than Otani (158 cm.), and has distinctive black hair with a red streak. Risa soon discovers that he is also an avid Umibouzu fan. He very soon develops feelings for Risa, who admits to herself that she finds him 'cute'. Against her better judgment, Risa attends an Umibōzu concert with Kohori which leads to her temporary breakup with Ōtani. He even tells Ōtani that he is in love with Risa, which causes Ōtani to slug him. Around chapter 60 in the manga, Risa's classmate Abe is shown to have a crush on Kohori.
Matsubara-san (松原さん Matsubara san?)
The manager in charge at the restaurant where Risa works. She wears glasses and is quite nosy. When she is intoxicated, she turns wild, and does things that she won't remember the next day.

Info
Pita-Ten (ぴたテン ?) is a Japanese manga created by Koge-Donbo which was serialized in MediaWorks' shōnen manga magazine Dengeki Comic Gao! between August 27, 1999 and June 27, 2003; eight bound volumes were released. The manga has been translated into English by Tokyopop. The manga was adapted into an anime by Akemi Menda and Yasuko Kobayashi that aired on TV Tokyo between April and September 2002, comprising twenty-six episodes. The title Pita-Ten is short for "Pittari Tenshi" (ぴったり天使 ?, lit. "clinging angel"). The plot of Pita-Ten centers primarily on the upbeat character Misha and her attempts to become a licensed angel, and Kotarou, her neighbor. It is generally light-humored, but the anime and the manga end with a serious tone. Three light novels, written by Yukari Ochiai, were published by MediaWorks under their Dengeki Bunko label between April 2002 and February 2003. The novels have been licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment for release in English. The first novel was released in March 2008, the second volume in July 2008, and the third was scheduled for release in November 2008, but was never published due to Seven Seas putting their light novel line on an indefinite hiatus.
Plot
Kotaro is a child who has lost his mother, one day, he runs into the pinkhaired Misha, an apprentice angel. Together with Ten-chan and Koboshi, they get into all kinds of weird situations. Especially when they come across Shia-san, a demon apprentice, who is actually too kind to be able to be a demon.
Characters
Kotarou Higuchi (樋口 湖太郎 Higuchi Kotarō?)
A calm and collected sixth grader. He looks after himself and lives with his father. It is explained during the story that his mother died while saving him from being run over when he was younger. Kotarou learns new skills and becomes happier once Misha moves in next to him. Kotarou is the reincarnation of his granduncle, Kotaroh (manga only). He has purple hair. After Misha gets called back to heaven Kotaroh commits suicide which shows how much he really cares for her.
Misha (美紗 ?)
This cute and perky angel is Kotarou's new next-door neighbor and her main passion in life is stalking and glomping Kotarou. She's an apprentice angel (anime) or unofficial angel (manga) who speaks like a small child and tries to make everybody around her happy; consequentially making matters worse. She is very hyper and outgoing around Kotarou (for example, her first line said to him in both versions is "Will you go out with me?!"). She is happy and optimistic, and has always managed to keep on smiling. She becomes best friends with Shia when Shia moves into her home. As a young angel, Misha befriended Kotaroh, Kotarou's granduncle. However, when she was told to return to Heaven, Kotaroh committed suicide. Misha was blamed for the incident and punished, being forced to wear black and kept trapped in a thorn cage. During her time on earth, her exam to become a fully licensed angel is to make Kotarou happy (manga only). She has pink hair with a pair of bunny hair ornaments that mimic her expressions.
Shia (紫亜 ?)
A very polite and quiet girl who is great at cooking and cleaning. A demon (manga), or demon apprentice (anime), she is outwardly gentle and kind-hearted, and is not very good at being malicious or at killing humans. She is generally weak - more so when her staff breaks under Misha's angelic influence. In the TV series, she disappears from failing to become a full demon. However, Misha sacrifices herself by making some kind of medicine that made people forget her, and remember Shia. Once the people remembered Shia, Shia came back to life. Later, the powers of Heaven revive Misha due to her selfless bevaviour befitting of an angel. In the manga, in the past, there was an incident in the underworld and young Shia was transported to earth in a human form without any knowledge of her indentity. She was found and taken in by a wealthy rice merchant, who named her Shima. Shima fell in love with Kotarou's great grandfather, Taro. They had two children named Kotaroh (Kotarou's granduncle) and Shino (Kotarou's grandmother). When Shima becomes too weak and almost takes Kotaroh's life force, she goes with Klaus (Nya) who erases her memory of Taro and her children. Many years later during her time with Kotarou and Misha, Shia is trying to find out about her past. In volume 7 of the manga, Shia dies because she refused to take human life-force in order to stay alive, and because life essence from Misha-san had poisoned her. She has black hair. It is also shown as dark brown, and sometimes purple.
Takashi "Ten-chan" Ayanokoji (綾小路 天 Ayanokōji Takashi?)
Nicknamed Ten-chan, Takashi is nothing short of a "ladies' man" who is the best friend of Kotarou and Koboshi since they were six. He's great at sports, outgoing and always gets good grades. Despite his perfect grades and popularity, he has a troubled home life and develops a crush on Shia. Although they never become a couple, they do become friends. In the manga, Takashi tells Shia his feelings for her, and admits to Kotarou his previous feelings for Koboshi. Has blond hair.
Koboshi Uematsu (植松 小星 Uematsu Koboshi?)
This semi-sweet loudmouth has the hots for Kotarou and can't stand the fact that Misha is homing in on her territory. Koboshi is depicted as a very assertive character. She loves Kotarou greatly but is too embarrassed to confess her feelings to him. She enjoyed having a normal, routinely basis of her every day life; from meeting Kotarou in the morning to talking to him during the day, until Misha showed up. She is liable to get angry and be very overprotective, causing her to be constantly irritated by Misha's childish antics and attachment to "her Kotarou-chan". In volume * of the manga, Koboshi reveals her feelings to Kotarou, who is shocked and freaked out. She is rejected and goes into depression, but she soon finds her way and starts becoming more confident in herself and around Kotarou. Has blonde hair with cat-ear hair ornaments.
Hiroshi "Dai-chan" Mitarai (御手洗 大 Mitarai Hiroshi?)
Nicknamed both Dai-chan and "Poops" (a play on the Japanese characters of his name, which mean "bathroom"), is one of the few characters who is almost always consistent, storyline-wise, in both the anime and the manga. He is a pre-pubescent eccentric who is totally obsessed with trying to out-do Takashi, no matter what. Hiroshi does not know that Shia is a demon and Misha is an angel; but he is strict and knowledgeable in traditional Japanese arts, so he is able to guess, (often to the annoyance of the other three kids, when he attempts to exorcise Shia and cling to Misha). Despite this, Hiroshi works hard to stand up to his family name, the great Mitarai dynasty, but falls behind Takashi in grades.
Kaoru Mitarai (御手洗 薫 Mitarai Kaoru?)
Hiroshi's pretty younger sister. She is a highly skilled culinary expert with a serious infatuation with Takashi, — she cooks for him and plans marriage. She reacts violently to anybody who would dare to be mean to Takashi or Hiroshi, though she does value Takashi slightly more than her brother. Kaoru appears reasonably regularly in the anime, but extremely rarely in the manga (she is the only character who was removed from the cast page).
Shino (紫乃 ?)
Kotarou's maternal cousin. She is a small child with a free spirit, but gets upset very quickly and easily, and hates being left alone. She, like Kotarou, can see angels, demons and ghosts.
Nya (ニャー Nyā?)
A little black cat that is always with Shia who was named by Misha (since the sound a cat makes, "nyo" or "nya" in Japanese). He insists that it is not his real name, but he never reveals it (only in the manga). Nya, who is a full demon, despises Sasha (and the feeling is mutual). His 'human form' is shown in the manga, and he turns out to be very violent. When Shia dies, he says, "I guess I was wrong. [She] turned out to be quite the demon, didn't she? Taking the weakest parts of human hearts and wreaking havoc with it and fate itself. She did it to you [Kotarou], your friend [Ten-chan], that pathetic fool Taro, ..and...me as well." which suggests he did have some care for Shia. He is also known as "Klaus" in some cases.
Sasha (早紗 ?)
Sasha is Misha's older sister and a fully-fledged angel. She has a small rivalry with Nya and tests Misha for both of her angel exams. (Anime) She sometimes likes to be referred to as "Sacchun" and has a slight infactuation with Takashi Ayanokoji.
Taro Higuchi (樋口 太郎 Higuchi Tarō?)
Kotarou's great-grandfather who fell in love with Shima, Shia's past self.
Kotaroh Higuchi (樋口 小太郎 Higuchi Kotarō?)
Taro's first child (his name, ko-Tarō, literally means "little-Tarou", meaning "Tarou Junior") and Kotarou's granduncle (manga only). Kotaroh loved Misha dearly, and asked her to go out with him. Misha - being an angel - did not understand, so Kotaroh explained that he wanted to be with her forever (this is why Misha asked Kotarou to go out with her in the present time on their first meeting). But what Misha was doing (visiting Kotaroh) was against the rules in Heaven, and she was scolded and ordered to be sent back to Heaven by Sacchan. After he overheard this, Kotaroh decided he would go to Heaven with Misha, and committed suicide by jumping off a cliff to his death. Although it is not known what happened to his soul, Kotaroh is reincarnnated into Kotarou.

Panyo Panyo Digi Charat =]
Info
Panyo Panyo Di Gi Charat (ぱにょぱにょ デ・ジ・キャラット Panyo Panyo De Ji Kyaratto?) is the prequel to the popular anime series Di Gi Charat. It features Princess Dejiko and Puchiko as young children home at planet Di Gi Charat. The two and their friends Meek and Rinna set off to bring happiness to the citizens of planet Di Gi Charat, while Piyoko and Deji Devil try to stop them.
Plot
A girl named Princess Dejiko wants to make everyone in the world happy. So she sets off in search of unhappy people and tries to make them happy again! Complete with big eyes, cat hats, and tails, Princess Dejiko finds friends to aid her quest for world happiness!
I especially love how they put it in short episodes, so that if you don't particularly like a story, you don't have to miss half the show. The theme song is sooooo cute also! "I shoot what I dislike with laser beams from my eyes" Though the song is in Japanese, if you memorize the song, you can make other people look at you oddly if you sing along! Overall cutesy anime that's sometimes funny, sometimes a little sad, and always cute ^^ There are too many things I love about this series to list all of them!
This is for all ages, and teaches good morals. Yes, good morals. Dejiko's favorite food is broccoli (you can find it in the extras section) so if you were to cosplay as her... you know what you're having for dinner ~_^ Overall awesome DVD, get it get it get it!
Characters
Dejiko - でじこ (also known as Di Gi Charat ) The princess of planet Di Gi Charat. After reading a book about a famous philanthropist, she made a vow to bring happiness to every person who lives on Di Gi Charat. In order to leave the castle, she had to promise her teacher that she would take Gema along as a chaperon. She wears a white hat shaped like cat ears, with a pair of gold bells on it. She ends her sentences with 'nyo.'

Blood type: B
Favorite food: Natto

Voiced by: Miyuki Sawashiro (Japanese), Hilary Haag (English)
Meek (Mike) - みけ Meek might be called a 'tomboy,' and also has a tendency to yell. She and Dejiko occasionally disagree. She apparently dislikes sea slugs. In episode 2, the townspeople claim that she makes the most delicious cakes on the planet; however, they have no idea when her shop will open, as Rinna has a tendency to fall asleep without warning. In a later episode, it is revealed that Rinna can run at an impossible speed; she does not usually do it because she "doesn't like to run." Rinna ends her sentences with 'myu.'
Birthday: February 27
Age: 8 years old
Blood type: AB
Favorite food: Cake
Favorite color: Blue
Voiced by: Atsuko Enomoto (Japanese), Allison Sumrall (English)
Piyoko - ぴよこ (also known as Pyocola Analogue III ) A young girl who works for Deji Devil. Apparently, she is the leader of the Black Gema Gema Gang, despite being only six years old. She addresses Deji Devil as 'Deji Devil-sama' ('Lord Deji Devil'; in the dub, she refers to him as 'boss'), but according to her character profile, she has little actual respect for him. Dejiko and company do not treat her or Deji Devil as a threat, going so far as to refer to Piyoko as 'Piyoko-chan' as if they were close friends. Piyoko ends her sentences with 'pyo.'
Birthday: October 23
Age: 6 years old
Blood type: AB
Favorite food: Créme-filled cookies
Favorite color: black
Voiced by: Megumi Hayashibara (Japanese), Kira Vincent-Davis (English)
Deji Devil - デジデビル Deji Devil's mission is apparently 'to make everyone on Di Gi Charat unhappy.' Thus, his and Dejiko's quests are somewhat mutually exclusive. Aside from his wings and cape, his body has no substance, therefore he is able to pass through objects. Interestingly, he supposedly is afraid of ghosts. He ends his sentences with 'devi.' In one of the final episodes, it is revealed the Deji Devil can transform into a large pink, flying, panda-like being referred to as 'The King of Demons.' In this 'King of Demons' form, he is no more solid than he is ordinarily; however, he gains the ability to fire lasers from his mouth. According to him, he doesn't usually use this form because 'people might start to expect it.'
Birthday: the 13th day of the 13th month
Age: 100,010 years old

Favorite food: carrots and bell peppers.
Favorite color: black

Gema - ゲマ Gema is a perfectly round, floating, yellow creature who accompanies Dejiko everywhere as a chaperon. According to his character profile page, most of Gema's data is unknown (including what species he is). He bears a slight resemblance to Pacman; the most notable feature about him is his apparently upside down face.
Favorite food: Red bean jam-filled buns
Voiced by: Yoshiko Kamei (Japanese), Tiffany Grant (English)

Azumanga Daioh chronicles everyday life in an unnamed Japanese high school in Tokyo, following the trials and triumphs of six girls: reserved Sakaki's obsession with cute animals, Chiyo's struggle to fit in with girls five years older, Osaka's spacey nature and skewed perspective on the world, Yomi's aggravation at an annoying best friend, Tomo, whose energy is rivaled only by her lack of sense, and Kagura's efforts in sports and school. The story covers three years of tests, culture festivals, and athletic events at school, after-school life at the nearby shopping district, at Chiyo's large house, vacations spent at Chiyo's summer home on the beach and at Magical Land, a theme park. It is generally realistic in tone, marked by occasional bursts of surrealism and absurdity, such as Osaka's bizarre imaginings, Chiyo's ponytails being "unscrewed", and an episode featuring the characters' New Year's dreams.
The manga and anime follow the same story line, though there are differences in small details. Some jokes could not be dramatized as written and were either changed or excised completely. In the first manga volume, Osaka's appearance is noticeably different from in the anime and succeeding manga volumes. In the same vein, Sakaki's initial unapproachable demeanor in the manga is downplayed in the anime.
Characters
Chiyo Mihama
A child prodigy, also known as Chiyo-chan, who is considered amazingly cute by the other characters. Through her, the series humorously explores the consequences of skipping five grades to tenth grade (the first grade in Japanese high school). She is a target of jealousy due to her intelligence and wealthy family. Chiyo's twin ponytails were used in several visual gags in both the manga and anime, such as flying wings in Osaka's daydreams. Voiced by: Tomoko Kaneda (Japanese), Jessica Boone (English)
Tomo Takino
An extremely energetic and competitive girl, despite being nonathletic and a slacker. Tomo's character is extremely impulsive and rarely considers the consequences of anything. She is a selfproclaimed Lupin III fanatic.Voiced by: Chieko Higuchi (Japanese), Mandy Clark (English)
Koyomi "Yomi" Mizuhara
A grade-school friend and Tomo's general antagonist, Yomi as she is commonly known, is the title's voice of reason and straight man, carrying herself as the most mature and serious of the group. Though smart and athletic, she is constantly dissatisfied with herself due to her weight and is always trying various diets in an effort to become thinner. Voiced by: Rie Tanaka (Japanese), Nancy Novotny (English)
Sakaki
A tall, soft-spoken girl uncomfortable with her height and busty physique. Her reticence is misinterpreted as mysterious, or cool. She is naturally athletic but she has no real interest in sports. Sakaki is, in reality, an emotionally sensitive person who holds a secret longing for cute things. She loves cats, but the neighborhood cats dislike her and her parents do not allow cats in their house because her mother is allergic. She later finds an Iriomote Cat on their school field trip. When they leave Sakaki cries, but the cat follows her and Sakaki names the cat Maya. Chiyo later takes care of Maya for Sakai due to her mother's allergies. Voiced by: Yu Asakawa (Japanese), Christine Auten (English)
Ayumu "Osaka" Kasuga
More popularly known by her nickname Osaka (大阪 Ōsaka?), Ayumu is a transfer student from Osaka. Tomo quickly chose for her the nickname "Osaka" contrary to Ayumu's behavior, which is different from what Tomo sees as the "typical" Osakan. Ayumu lacks the energy or motivation to dispute the nickname. She has a mind that works differently than other people, prone to daydreaming, absentmindedness, and non-sequiturs, but exceptional at answering very specific types of riddles. Voiced by: Yuki Matsuoka (Japanese), Kira Vincent-Davis (English)
Kagura
A girl who joins Yukari's class in the second year. Yukari selects her as a ringer to win the school athletic competitions. Originally in Nyamo's class and with little success in studies, she devotes her time to the swim team but is an all-around good athlete. She is genuinely nice to her classmates but is competitive and has a slight obsession with Sakaki, with whom she sees as an athletic rival due to Sakaki being a naturally gifted athlete with no training at all. She is also sensitive and prone to tears when she doesn't perform as well as she wants to, or at the thought of parting with her friends. Voiced by: Houko Kuwashima (Japanese), Allison Sumrall (English)
Yukari Tanizaki
The girls' English and homeroom teacher (class 3), with very unconventional methods and a close relationship with the class. Her students are casual enough to call her by her first name: Yukari-sensei, and even use the very informal and intimate name and title of Yukari-chan. She can be moody and, like Tomo, is incredibly impulsive and has a tendency not to think things through. Yukari has a rivalry/friendship with Minamo and attempts to prove that she is the superior teacher. Yukari is known for being an absolutely horrible driver with a car beaten entirely with dents. Yukari's driving skills are responsible for Chiyo-chan developing an occasional phobia to riding in cars. Voiced by: Akiko Hiramatsu (Japanese), Luci Christian (English)
Minamo "Nyamo" Kurosawa
A gym teacher at the girls' school. In the girls' first year of high school, she was the homeroom teacher of class 5. During their last two years, she was the homeroom teacher of class 2. She is an old high school friend and rival of Yukari, who occasionally refers to her by an old nickname of Nyamo (にゃも Nyamo?), despite Minamo's wishes to the contrary. Popular with the students, Minamo is nicer and in greater control of herself than Yukari, but, in moments of weakness, Minamo has proven that she can be just as vulnerable to losing control as is Yukari. She likes to gossip about Yukari to the students, but doesn't do so because Yukari has blackmail material on Minamo from back when they were students. Voiced by: Aya Hisakawa (Japanese), Monica Rial (English)

Lucky☆Star =]
Info
Lucky Star (らき☆すた Raki☆Suta?) is a Japanese four-panel comic strip manga by Kagami Yoshimizu. The strip has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Comptiq magazine since January 2004. Cameo strips were published in other magazines such as Shōnen Ace and others. Like many four-panel comic strips, it has no ongoing plot, and typically focuses on the daily lives of the characters.
In August 2005, a drama CD based on the series was released, and in December 2005, a Nintendo DS video game entitled Lucky Star Moe Drill, was released. A sequel, also playable on the DS, called Shin Lucky Star Moe Drill was released in May 2007, and a PlayStation 2 visual novel was released in January 2008. An anime adaptation produced by Kyoto Animation was broadcast in 24 episodes on the Chiba TV Japanese television network between April 8, 2007 and September 16, 2007. A light novel was released in September 2007. The anime has been licensed in the USA by Kadokawa Pictures and distributed by Bandai Entertainment; as of March 16, 2009, all six DVDs have been released. An original video animation episode was released on September 26, 2008 accompanied by a drama CD.
Plot
Lucky Star's story portrays the lives of several girls attending a Japanese high school named Ryōō with a very loose sense of humor. The setting is mainly based on the city of Kasukabe in Saitama Prefecture.[4] The main character is Konata Izumi, an athletic and intelligent, but also slightly mischievous and laid-back girl who, despite these attributes, is not in a sports club and has to resort to all-nighter cramming for tests. She would rather read manga and play video games than do her homework, which makes her a lazy character.
The serialization began with the four main characters in their first year of high school: Konata Izumi, Kagami Hiiragi, Tsukasa Hiiragi, and Miyuki Takara. As the story progresses, they move on to their second and third years. However, the anime starts the story with them beginning their second year, and the other high school girls that are seen in the opening are only introduced halfway through the series. The storyline usually includes numerous references to popular past and present manga and anime series.
Main Characters
Konata Izumi (泉 こなた Izumi Konata?)
Voiced by: Ryō Hirohashi (drama CD), Aya Hirano (anime), Wendee Lee (English)
The very representation of an otaku, Konata (or sometimes called 'Kona-chan') is the childish but good-natured leader of the Lucky Star girls. Usually a lazy girl who is 'occupied' with video or online games, manga, anime, or all of the above, Konata is actually capable of intelligence and athleticism, but does not join any school clubs because of her otaku interests. Konata works at a cosplay café with underclassman Patricia Martin. Due to her hobbies she often deals with Kagami pestering her for not working hard enough on her studies. She lives with her widowed father (an otaku who often buys adult games for himself and Konata), as well as her younger cousin Yutaka Kobayakawa, who goes to her school (although she is even shorter than Konata). She has a comedic friendship with Kagami, Tsukasa, and Miyuki, although at widely varying degrees.[5]
Kagami Hiiragi (柊 かがみ Hiiragi Kagami?)
Voiced by: Ami Koshimizu (drama CD), Emiri Kato (anime), Kari Wahlgren (English)
Kagami is Tsukasa's older fraternal twin sister and is occasionally referred to as "Kagamin". In school, her grades are excellent because she studies very hard. She was even the class president in her first year. She is in a different class than Konata and Tsukasa, but she frequently comes to their class during lunch time to eat with them. Kagami was separated into a different classroom in her second and third year. [6]
Kagami is a stereotypical tsukkomi character, however, she is prone to becoming shy and emotional at times, making her appear as a tsundere character as well. Much like Konata, Kagami likes video games, but plays a different genre than Konata; Kagami likes to play shoot 'em up games. She loves to read light novels, but she feels lonely because no one around her shares this interest.
Tsukasa Hiiragi (柊 つかさ Hiiragi Tsukasa?)
Voiced by: Mai Nakahara (drama CD), Kaori Fukuhara (anime), Michelle Ruff (English)
Tsukasa is the younger fraternal twin sister of Kagami and lives in a six-member family household with her parents. She is in the same class as Konata. While she is not good at studying or sports, she excels in cooking. She is portrayed as the stereotypical friendly, good-natured but clumsy person. She is often portrayed as an airhead who is unreliable and is always compared to her twin sister, who generally does better than her in most areas. It is often implied that Tsukasa is unable to follow the gist of complex conversations. Tsukasa will often ask her older sister for help on her homework, though it usually does not make much of a difference. She is also known for having her hair in the same style as Akari Kamigishi from To Heart, something hinted at frequently in the series.[7]
Miyuki Takara (高良 みゆき Takara Miyuki?)
Voiced by: Erina Nakayama (drama CD), Aya Endo (anime), Karen Strassman (English)
Miyuki is a young lady from a wealthy family who is beautiful, smart, and well-mannered. She always uses extremely polite Japanese, even when talking with her closest friends. She was the class president for her grade level in her first year, at the same time that she became good friends with Kagami. Now Miyuki is in the same class as Konata and Tsukasa, and is nicknamed "Yuki-chan" by Tsukasa. Miyuki's classmates often rely on her for help with their studies, and she is often shown giving impromptu but highly-detailed, encyclopedic definitions or explanations on diverse and obscure matters.[8]
She is described as a stereotypically friendly meganekko, or glasses-wearing girl. She is scared of contacts, and of putting them in her eyes, thus why she wears glasses. Her vision is less than 20/200, though it had been good until elementary school, when she began reading books in the dark after her mother dozed off while reading to her in bed. She likes to read books, but does not read light novels. Miyuki loves to sleep, and she always goes to bed fairly early. She hates visits to the dentist, but frequently has to go to fix a loose crown or because of tooth decay. On the rare occasion that she plays video games, her personality changes. Due to her embodying such a large number of moe archetypes—as Konata said it—Miyuki is the frequent-victim of Konata's playful bouts of verbal sexual-harassment.

Yotsuba! =]
Info
Yotsuba&! (よつばと! Yotsuba to!) is an ongoing Japanese comedy manga series by Kiyohiko Azuma, the creator of Azumanga Daioh(I'll talk about this later!). It is published in Japan by MediaWorks, now ASCII Media Works, in the monthly magazine Dengeki Daioh and collected in eight tankobon volumes as of August 2008. It depicts the everyday adventures of a young girl named Yotsuba as she learns about the world around her. Several characters in Yotsuba&! were previously featured in a one-shot manga called "Try! Try! Try!" The phrase Yotsuba to means "Yotsuba and," a fact reflected in the chapter titles, most of which take the form "Yotsuba and something."
The manga was licensed for English language distribution by ADV Manga, which released five volumes between 2005 and 2007. Volume six was supposed to have been released in February 2008, but was delayed indefinitely in order to focus on ADV's core business of anime. Yen Press announced at New York Comic Con 2009 that they acquired the North American license for the series, starting with volume six scheduled to be published in September 2009. As of February 2009, Yen Press does not yet have the rights to reprint the first five volumes but is looking to acquire them.
Yotsuba's Character
Yotsuba Koiwai is a cute, fun loving girl who is always getting into mischief.
Yotsuba's daily life is full of adventure. Yotsuba Koiwai is..... well.... a typical 5 year old, energetic, enthusiastic, amazed by everything, curious, and a bit odd – odd enough to be called strange by her father as well as ignorant of many things that even a five-year-old should know. Because of this, the most ordinary experience can become an adventure for her. As the days progress, she makes new friends and shows those around her that every day can be enjoyable.. In volume one Yotsuba's father is noted as saying "She can find happiness in anything, nothing in this world can get her down". This just reinstates that fact that she is a very happy girl. Yotsuba is also very forgetful, so much so that she has even forgotten her age a one point. Yotsuba is also noted as being a foreigner by the other people in the manga. When she first moves into her new house she is still confused by the moving process and tells Fuka that her house is "Way over there" while pointing to the left. Also Yotsuba does not know where she comes from but when people ask her, her response is "To the left".
Come on. How can you resist that face?!
For some reason Yotsuba is scared of all things that resemble a bullseye.... this is never explained but hilarious events ensue because of this.
Notable Quotes
"Do you think the government made it?"
"Stop the air conditioners!"
"We meet again Boxerman!"
"Yanda's eating Poo, you're a poo eater!"

What is Kogal? ;)
Kogals (コギャル kogyaru, lit. "small/child girl") are a subculture of girls and young women in urban Japan, one of several types of so-called gals. They are characterized by conspicuously displaying their disposable incomes through unique tastes in fashion, music, and social activity. In general, the kogal "look" roughly approximates a sun-tanned California Valley girl, and indeed, the similarities between the two extend to the linguistic, for both subcultures have derived entire sets of slang terms (コギャル語 "ko-gyaru-go"). Kogals are not to be confused with the ganguro subculture, although they are similar. Kogals are known for wearing platform boots, a miniskirt, copious amounts of makeup, hair coloring (usually blond), artificial suntans, and designer accessories. If in school uniform, the look typically includes skirts pinned very high and loose socks (large baggy socks that go up to the knee). Kogals' busy social lives and desire for new material goods leads them to be among the first consumers of Japanese cell phone technology, and their taste in clothes tends toward names such as Burberry scarves and Louis Vuitton handbags. Kogals spend much of their free time (and their father's income) shopping, and their culture centers around the Shibuya district of Tokyo, in particular the 109 building, although any major Japanese city is sure to have at least a small population. During the summer, kogals may sometimes be seen at the beach. They are generally not seen in high-end department stores. Critics of the Kogal subculture decry its materialism as reflecting a larger psychological or spiritual emptiness in modern Japanese life. Some kogals support their lifestyle with allowances from wealthy parents, living a "freeter" or "parasite single" existence that grates against traditional principles of duty and industry. A small minority appear in pornography to finance their habits. More may engage in the practice of "compensated dating", or enjo kōsai, which may at times border on quasi-legal prostitution. Internet-based usage of this term has led some Western observers to the mistake of believing that "kogal" means "prostitute". The kogal phenomenon emerged in the mid-1990s and its effects can still be seen today in its numerous off-shoots of sub-categories, although conservative tastes in dress and hair color seem to be on the upswing. Interestingly enough, the Gothic Lolita aesthetic has been described as a reaction to the kogal look. The term's etymology is disputed: the most common theory is that it was derived from the Japanese word for "high school", kōkō (高校), although others claim that it comes from ko (子), the Japanese word for "girl" or "child". The "gal" originates from English.

What is Yamamba? ;)
Yamanba (ヤマンバ ?) and manba (マンバ ?) are terms often used to describe extreme practitioners of ganguro fashion. Old school Yamanba and Manba; (particularly known as 2004 Manba); featured dark tans and white lipstick, pastel eye make-up, tiny metallic or glittery adhesives below the eyes, brightly-coloured contact lenses, plastic dayglo-coloured clothing, and incongruous accessories, such as Hawaiian Leis (often the Alba Rosa brand). Stickers on the face died out shortly after 2004, and for a while, Manba died. Yamanba is now more extreme, and hair is often multicoloured, and usually synthetic. 2008's Manba has seen a darker tan, and no facial decoration (stickers). Hair is usually neon/bright colours, with pink being a favourite. Wool("dreadlocks"), extensions and clips are worn to make hair appear longer. Clothing remains the same, although Leis are worn less frequently now. Manba and Yamanba are not to be confused. Yamanba has white make-up only above the eye, while Manba has makeup below the eye also. Stuffed animals, bracelets, bells and hibiscuses are worn. The male equivalent is called a "center guy" (センター街 Sentāgai?, Center Street), a pun on the name of a pedestrian shopping street near Shibuya Station in Tokyo where yamanba and center guys are often seen.
If Ganguro is scary, with yamamba I'm frightened! Brrr...

What is Ganguro? ;)
Ganguro (ガングロ), literally "black-face", is a Japanese fashion trend among many Japanese girls which peaked in popularity from the late 1990s to the early 2000s, an outgrowth of chapatsu hair dyeing. The Shibuya and Ikebukuro districts of Tokyo are the centre of ganguro fashion.
The basic look consists of bleached hair, a deep tan, both black and white eyeliners, false eyelashes, platform shoes (usually sandals or boots), and brightly colored outfits. Also typical of the "Ganguro Gal" look are cell phones covered with purikura stickers, tie-dyed sarongs, mini-skirts, hibiscus flower hairpins, and lots of bracelets, rings and necklaces.
It's roots are the GAL or Gyaru style, and the KoGAL style (which was supposed to to look like Californian girls!).
Kind of scaring, huh? Brrr...

What is Oshare Kei? ;)
1)Oshare Kei is a bright, colorful Japanese fashion style. Unlike Visual Kei, Oshare Kei japanese rock bands usually have lyrics that are about friends, relationships, and mostly happiness. Oshare Kei is very positive. Bands like SuG, An Cafe, Ayabie, Lolita23q, and LM.C are usually labeled as an Oshare Kei band. Oshare Kei style came up around 2001 in Japan as a sub-set of it's opposite fashion style, Visual Kei.
Those who live outside Japan or who aren't Japanophiles (people obsessed with Japanese culture) have no idea of what Oshare kei is. They might have a faint idea of what Visual kei is but are totally clueless when it comes to all things Oshare. Well this article is here to educate you.
Oshare means "stylish" or "fashionable". It also means to dress stylishly. It follows Japanese street fashion and is
usually modeled by male rock band members but usually is
worn by female consumers.
Who started Oshare Kei? A band from the music scene obviously. Some credit Baroque as the band that started to whole thing.
Oshare kei is the more colorfully eye blinding side of Visual kei. Visual Kei has more of a gothic and depressing type of look while Oshare kei is more colorful, child-ish looking and happier musical tunes. Visual kei has more feminine qualities such as cross-dressing and men behaving like that of a woman but Oshare bands do that regularly too, for example one of my favorite Oshare fashion models is BoU from the band Antic Cafe, I didn't even know that he was a guy when I first saw him.
Thus said, bands under this style live up to the meaning by dressing up in colorful costumes, or in Decora and/or Friuts style. Fruits is a Japanese magazine which features regular people dressed in offbeat street fashions. If there are identifiable themes, they can broadly be described as fun, original, authentic, and the recording of emerging social trends and technology. "You are the best stylist to express yourself".It's so popular that even photo books sell well in the US.
So, many of them are seen sporting massive amounts of jewelry and bags of cartoon characters and animals slung on, tons of hairclips that make you go dizzy because you'd lose count, and lighter make-up compared to Visual kei. The music is more happy sounding, the lyrics lighter and happier.
Harajuku + Visual Kei + J-rocker + Lolita = Oshare Kei~!
2)A Japanese music and fashion style, translating to "fashion conscience." The bands of the oshare kei genre, unlike those of visual kei, are bouncy and bright, their songs focusing on happy and positive messages like friends and relationships. Their style is colorful and vibrant, sometimes similar to decora, but usually much more toned down. Other than occasional eyeliner and colored contacts, they rarely wear alot of makeup, also unlike the visual kei genre. Oshare kei started to appear around 2001, and was said to have been started by Ryo of Baroque in their PV "Anakuro Film".
Kra, Ancafe, Irokui, Panic*CH, HeaRt, Ichigo69, Vinett, Lolita23q, Shelly Trip Realize, Charlotte, Clavier and bis are examples of oshare kei bands.

Style Handbook! ;)
Although Decora doesn't have any rules, and I personally disagree with any label having rules, here are just some hints and tips for new Decora-chan who have no idea where to start, or those who have tried to get the look but feel that there's something missing ^__^
♥ Get Sanrio Merch! Sanrio and San-X characters are just the essence of Kawaii, so stock up on as many t-shirts and accessories as possible! Some popular characters include Pandapple, Badtz Maru, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, and of course, the infamous Hello Kitty!!
♥ Hair is just as important as clothing! You won't see a single Decora-chan with plain hair. If you can't get your hair dyed a crazy colour, fill your hair with hairclips and bows! Wearing lots of hairclips is one of the first steps that many people take on their way to Decoraness! ^__^ Strawberry hairclips are always a good choice, along with Hello Kitty and hearts ^_^
♥ Experiment! Don't be afraid to experiment! Try out different outfits, look at other Decora-chan's clothes, and just keep mixing and matching until you get a look that you love! Go on our forum and ask for others' opinions - we won't bite!
♥ Layers Layers Layers! Remember that you dont have to wear ONE of everything! Ten necklaces, six bracelets on each arm, three pairs of socks, two skirts, three tops... the possibilities are endless! >__<
But Where Can I Get This Stuff??
I know from experience that it can be very difficult to find the things you want! All you have to do is look closely. Every clothes or accessory shop will have something kawaii in there, you just have to look! Even if it's just a pink t-shirt with hearts on it, or a super cute Hello Kitty necklace! You're bound to find something, you just need to mix and match to the max!! Charity shops are always good to look in too and there are also plenty of kawaii online stores where you'll find what you're looking for, and don't forget to ebay!!

What are FRUiTS? ;)
This is the name of a Japanese street fashion magazine, where most non-Japanese people today will find their first glimpse of Decora. This magazine is filled with the photographs of Shoichi Aoki, just of random people in the Harajuku area who happen to be wearing interesting clothes. There is more to FRUiTS than just Decora - in this magazine you will find different, completely and utterly unique styles, and it provides a lot of inspiration for those who want to truely stand out from the crowd.

Sorts of Decora! ;)
While I've been searching for Decora pictures in the past, I've found little differences in the different kinds of Decora that there are.
These differences aren't 'official', they're just a few that I've found myself, and given names for myself. You shouldn't go around declaring yourself a "Pink Decora" to the word, or even start disliking the other types of decora, (like other styles that have different sub-styles within them tend to do). I thought of these myself as a way of telling the difference between different types of Decora. If you can think of others, don't hesitate to e-mail me :3
"Childish Decora"
This kind of Decora can be a part of any other kind, or a completely seperate style altogether. This is where the Decora-chan wear tutus or shirts that have pictures of cartoon or anime characters, or any other image from their childhood. These Decora tend to wear a lot of toys, tiaras and magic wands. I personally think that this is the most 'personal' form of Decora as you can really show off your inner child and who you are.
Tips: Don't forget all the cartoons and animes you like, especially the ones you watched as a kid. Don't make the same mistake I did, which is to only think about kawaii animes that are around now. Lots of Japanese Decora-chan wear SpongeBob stuff, so what you wear doesn't necessarily have to be Japanese!
Consider: My Little Pony, Pokemon, Digimon, SpongeBob Squarepants, Sanrio and San-X characters like Hello Kitty and My Melody, anything childish that you love or used to love ^___^
"Pink Decora"
I don't think this needs explaining, do you? ^_~ Pink Decora is all about that amaaaazing colour - PINK PINK PINK! Probably the only other colour you should consider is white, even if that isn't even a colour! This is probably the most popular Decora and has the most rules. Absolutely everything must be pink!
Tips: Get all the pink things out of your wardrobe and put them all together! If you HAVE to have another colour, try a tiny bit of red, but do everything you can to keep your look as pink as possible!
Consider: Polka dots are always good for this look. Also, try some white and pink or black and pink stripy tights! ^__^
"Colourful Decora"
This is the ideal that everyone who first gets into Decora wants to believe in - that Decora is all about being colourful and crazy. This look is completely adorable and is easily achievable with just the right amount of balance in different colours. This type of Decora is just so kawaii and allows you to be totally creative with hardly any boundaries.
Tips: Make sure you get the right balance of colours. Too much of one colour can can change the look completely! Colourful hair is also really cool! Try not to go for clothes that have the colours of the rainbow in their order, this can be too, well, rainbowy o.o
Consider: Lots and lots of accessories of all different colours! Don't pick just your favourite colours while looking for accessories, anything will do, and all the different colours put together will look sugoi! ^__^
"Dark Decora"
With Japanese fashion becoming more and more interested in the Gothic and Visual Kei look, the number of Dark Decora-chan are growing. If you're perhaps on the darker end of the fashion spectrum and not too keen on the idea of wearing bright pink, then this is the style for you. Dark Decora shares many of the same ideas as other Decora, such as the over-accessorising and carrying lots of toys, but the colours don't tend to be there. If colours are worn, they're normally lime green, purple or red.
Tips: If you like being gothic or emo to stand out from the crowd, trying Dark Decora will make you stand out even more! Just add lots of accessories to your normal look and it'll be great! Of course, you could go to the extreme and wear purely black and nothing else! It's totally up to you!
Consider: Kuromi, Badtz Maru and Gloomy Bear are great kawaii-yet-dark characters for you to check out. These will totally shift your look to the Decora side. ^__^
"Lolicora"
Lolicora, or Lolita Decora, is a mixture between these two Japanese fashions. This style can combine almost any Lolita style with Decora, by adding all the cute accessories attributed to Decora.
Tips: Make sure you're familiar with the Lolita style if you want to achieve this look effectively! Lolita styles can be quite strict!

What is Decora?
デコラ (dekora) is a Japanese word shortened from the English word "Decoration". And that's what Decora is. Decoration. Wearing as many accessories (and sometimes even toys) as possible. You'll be able to hear a Decora-chan coming a mile away - with all their necklaces and accessories clanging against each other ^__^
Most people find Decora via the FRUiTS magazine - and will call this style 'FRUiTS' until they realise the proper name for it. Everybody loves Decora for different reasons. Because it's different and colourful, or just because it's かわいい (kawaii - cute).
Like any other trend, there are several rules to go by with Decora, but generally there are no rules. It takes months of practice and mix-n-matching to get your Decora look perfect. Decora is more than just a load of hairclips on your head and five or so necklaces.
Many look to Decora for inspiration, as it just screams "LOOK AT ME". Different fashions such as 'Scene' have taken a few ideas from Decora, making it even harder to look truely Decora.
To Me, Decora is all about never growing up. Decora is one of the few fashions where you don't have to make yourself look sexy. It's not about showing off your body, but showing off your clothes and creativity. Also unlike other fashions and lifestyles (not naming any to avoid getting shouted at) it's not about trying to look miserable or angry. It's all based on looking and being happy, cute, and unique.
Of course, if you dress Decora it doesn't make you unique as you've automatically put yourself into a label. But Decora is a fashion unique from every other.
And that's why you should go Decora, or even try it for a day. GO GO GO!!!

Emilie Autumn - Gothic Lolita
Brrr...
How old are you?
I'm older than you'll ever be
I've been dead a thousand years
And lived only two or three
I don't mind telling you
My life was ended by your hand
The kind of murder where nobody dies
But I don't suppose you'd understand
(Call off the search
We've found her)
If I am Lolita
Then you are a criminal
And you should be killed
By an army of little girls
The law won't arrest you
The world won't detest you
You never did anything
Any man wouldn't do
I'm Gothic Lolita
And you are a criminal
I'm not even legal
I'm just a dead little girl
But ruffles and laces
And candy sweet faces
Directed your furtive hand
I perfectly understand
So it's my fault?
No, Gothic Lolita
Thank you, kind sirs
You've made me what I am today
A bundle of broken nerves
A mouthful of words
I'm still afraid to say
I don't mind telling you
Now that I'm old enough to love
I couldn't begin to even if
My pretty life depended on it
And funny thing, it does
(Call off the search
We've found her)
If I am Lolita
Then you are a criminal
And you should be killed
By an army of little girls
The law won't arrest you
The world won't detest you
You never did anything
Any man wouldn't do
I'm Gothic Lolita
And you are a criminal
I'm not even legal
I'm just a dead little girl
But ruffles and laces
And candy sweet faces
Directed your furtive hand
I perfectly understand
So it's my fault?
No, Gothic Lolita
I am your sugar
I am your cream
I am your anti-American dream
I am your sugar
I am your cream
I am your worst nightmare
Now scream
If I am Lolita
Then you are a criminal
And you should be killed
By an army of little girls
The law won't arrest you
The world won't detest you
You never did anything
Any man wouldn't do
I'm Gothic Lolita
And you are a criminal
I'm not even legal
I'm just a dead little girl
But ruffles and laces
And candy sweet faces
Directed your furtive hand
I perfectly understand
So it's my fault?
No, Gothic Lolita

Rainbow ^_^
You obviously think that rainbow has nothing to do with Lolita's Style, but Lolita is my username, so I guess it's about my style too! :P Anyway, in the description I say (I mean... I write, sorry!) "much more" ... so ... you should take a look at this theory!
"Alright guys, let's think outside the box, called Earth for a moment. Way outside. Past the clouds. The atmosphere even. That's right people, where traveling to space. A long travell with difficalties and alliens... Ok, I guess this is not our subject, let's focus on my theory!
Colour's theory!
Now I'm assuming that everyone is familiar with the color wheel. Primary colors are colors that can't be mixed. Like red, blue and yellow. Then complimentary colors are color that need two colors to be made. Like purple, orange and green.
If you take away one primary color, you'll always loose two complimentary. For example, if you get rid of red, you'll loose purple and orange as well.
So, my theory.
What if another color exists. A primary color. Try and imagine a new color.... hard isn't it? You start thinking of mixed ones don't you? So what if in space, in another galaxy, universe, planet, rests another primary color.
We just can't imagine it because we've never seen it. If we never saw yellow ( or orange and green) in our entire lives, then we probably wouldn't be able to imagine it.Scary!
Now the question is, what would happen if we saw it? Would our little brains be able to handle this new addition to the color family? Or would our heads just explode at the sight of it because our minds can't comprehend what we're seeing?
What would we call this new color any way? I suppose this goes along the lines of made up names as I have mentioned before. Ha, maybe we should call it Treluz. Finally have a meaning to the gibberish. Doesn't really fit though as well as it does in the fantasy novel though. Wendy sounds like it could be a color though, after all. Barrie made it a name for a human... why not a color.
But it's already taken so I'll have to think up another name for this new mysterious color."
